#14 Marx vs. Warren booked for Bellator 107

#14 Travis Marx and Joe Warren will fight in the Bantamweight finale on November 8th on Spike TV. Warren beat Nick Kirk while Marx beat Brandon Bender to make it to the finals where the winner will eventually face the Bellator BW champion. Current Bellator BW champion #11 Eduardo Dantas is due for a return early next year and will most likely face Rafael Silva before the winner of this fight.

#11 'Rampage' vs. Beltran headlines Bellator 108

When the proposed Tito vs. Rampage main event for Bellator 106 failed to materialized Bellator opted to cancel the fight and keep 'Rampage' active against Joey Beltran who recently got cut from the UFC. 'Rampage' himself said he wanted to get back into the cage "ASAP" regardless of who it was so despite the head scratching opponent we will see 'Rampage' return to the cage in November just two weeks down the line on the 15th on Spike TV.

After two plus years Dominick Cruz is finally due to return. Cruz hasn't been inside the octagon since October 1st of 2011. #1 Aldo vs. #3 Lamas booked for UFC 169

#1 Jose Aldo will defend his title against #3 Ricardo Lamas on February 1st in Newark, NJ. Aldo vs. Lamas has been a long time coming. When #1 LW Anthony Pettis pulled out the FW title fight against Jose Aldo, Ricardo Lamas was left without a dance partner when the UFC opted to put #7 'The Korean Zombie' in for Pettis. UFC 169 will mark a year layoff for Lamas since his last win in the Octagon against Erik Koch earlier this year. Aldo is coming off a controversial TKO win over 'The Korean Zombie'.

#2 Gustafsson vs. #7 Nogueira headlines UFC Fight Night 36

After UFC Fight Night 30, Dana White announced that #2 Alexander Gustaffson will fight in London on March 8th against #7 Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Nogueira is currently on a 2 fight winning streak with wins over Tito Ortiz and #3 Rashad Evans. Gustaffson is coming of a razor close decision loss to #1 Jon Jones. Dana White confirmed that should Gustafsson win he gets another title shot. Its unclear if Nogueira would get a title shot should he upset the Swede, but one would think so.

UFC Fight Night 29: Maia vs. Shields Main Card Predictions

#9 Demian Maia -275 vs. #8 Jake Shields +225

Maia hasn't given me any reason not pick against him at welterweight so I'll go with Maia. Shields does present dangers but nothing that will skew me into picking him over Maia. The wrestling game of Shields shouldn't be a problem as Maia out grappled Fitch who's a better wrestler than Shields. Shields' cardio is a little suspect too and in a 5 round fight I would favor Maia the longer the fight goes.

Take Maia

#15 Erick Silva -265 vs. Dong Hyun Kim +215

Kim is a very strong welterweight and by far the best judoka in the welterweight division but I'd go with Silva. Silva has very good muay thai and very good submissions. He can fight at a pace that can pester the Stun Gun but he has to be on his heels because the Judo game of Kim can be hard to shutdown.

Take Silva

#13 Thiago Silva -365 vs. Matt Hamill +290

Striker vs. Wrestler match; this time around go with the striker. Even though I'm picking Silva it's important to note that he was taken down repeatedly by the one and only wrestler he's ever fought, Rashad Evans. Hamill however is more content to trade and then go for takedowns which is why Silva is the smart bet. While they're exchanging Silva will connect more often than Hamill.

Take Silva

Fabio Maldonado -155 vs. Joey Beltran +125

This fight is a toss up. If it's a polished stand up fight then I'd take Maldonado if its a brawl I'd go with Beltran. Maldonado tends to get caught up in these brawls that he ends up losing and Beltran's got himself a chin so I'd lean towards Beltran despite the odds.

Take Beltran especially at underdog money

Mike Pierce -285 vs. Rousimar Palhares +230

Judging by how they've both been performing as of late I'd go with Pierce. This is Palhares' first fight at welterweight so its still a wild card on how he's going to perform there. Pierce however is going to be hard to takedown and he does have the power to end Palhares' night. To top things off Palhares does have a suspect chin being stopped in his last two fights.

Take Pierce

TJ Dillashaw -240 vs. #15 Raphael Assuncao +195

I am picking Dillashaw but there is value in picking Assuncao as well. Obviously team alpha male have all improved their stand up game and already generally have a good wrestling game but this is a step up in competition. Assuncao is a very good counter striker, has the superior ground game and is unbeaten at bantamweight. So there's something to think about

Take Dillashaw but tread cautiously

UFC on Fox 9 adds #12 Pat Healy vs. Jamie Varner

#12 Healy and Varner have agreed to meet at UFC on Fox 9. Varner is coming off a split decision loss to Gleison Tibau while Healy is coming off a decision loss himself to #11 Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Live Rankings 2013 Update #2

MMACover.com has repackaged the 'LIVE RANKINGS' Tab. Next to the picture of everyone in the top 10 of each division is their most significant win that's keeping them ranked where they are and the lowest ranked loss that's preventing them from ranking any higher. This was done to better explain the our rankings. Unlike UFC.com's rankings which are based off of bias and opinion we are based off fact and hierarchy.

#6 Overeem vs. #9 Mir gets moved to UFC 169

#6 Alistair Overeem vs. #9 Frank Mir was originally scheduled for UFC 167 card on November in Vegas. The UFC instead opted to give Mir extra time to recover from his previous loss to #8 Josh Barnett. Its no secret both men are in desperate need of a win and will both look to do so on February 1st.

Note: this fight is still listed on the 'UPCOMING FIGHTS' tab.

#1 Jones vs. #10 Teixeira headlines UFC 169

#1 Jon Jones will attempt to defend his title for a record setting 7th time against #10 Glover Teixeira, who hasn't lost in 20 fights. This is the first fight announced for 2014 which will take place on February 1st in Newark, New Jersey. The Prudential center is the closest thing to Jones' hometown since MMA is still banned in New York. Jones is coming off the toughest fight of his career in barely defeating #2 Alexander Gustafsson by one point while Teixeira is coming of a first round knockout victory over #11 Ryan Bader.

Note: this fight has been added to the 'UPCOMING FIGHTS' tab where the rest of the top 15 fights are listed.

#8 Miller vs. Camoes get added to UFC 168

#8 Jim Miller and Fabricio Camoes will fight at the year end show on December 28th in Las Vegas. Miller is coming off a submission loss to #12 Pat Healy while Camoes is also coming off a loss Melvin Guillard. It's crucial for both men to get a victory at UFC 168.

Note: this fight has been added to the 'UPCOMING FIGHTS' tab. You can see the rest of the top 15 confirmed fights there as well.
