#9 Thomson will get the original fight he wanted, but this time the stakes are even higher as #1 Pettis now holds the UFC lightweight title. #4 TJ Grant is still not feeling 100% so the UFC opted to go with Thomson who is coming of a split decision loss to #3 Gilbert Melendez and a TKO win over #10 Nate Diaz. The title fight will still headline UFC on Fox 9 as scheduled.
