UFC Fight Night 27: Condit vs. Kampmann 2 Predictions and Betting Lines
I'm yet to decide on my bets so I'll only give you my predictions this time.
My Main Card Predictions:
#3 Condit -260 vs. #5 Kampmann +210
This fight is closer than what the odds make it out to be. Both guys are primarily Thai boxers with good jiu jitsu. I would give a slight edge to Condit on the feet and a slight edge to Kampmann on the ground. This is a 5 rounder and atleast we already know that Condit can go 25 minutes, Kampmann, we'll find out. Another thing to note is that Condit has a good chin and Kampmann has been knocked out in the past which is probably why Condit is a 2 to 1 favorite right now. But the X-factor in this fight is the wrestling. Condit's glaring hole in his game is his wrestling and for not being a wrestler Kampmann's a pretty good wrestler. I'd favor Condit but Kampmann can make the scorecards look interesting with his takedowns.
My Pick: I would take Kampmann at +210 or pass
NR* Cerrone -160 vs. NR* Dos Anjos +130
I like Cerrone in this fight. Dos Anjos is a good mid tier lightweight which is pretty good considering lightweight is stacked from top to bottom but I don't think he's on Cerrone's level yet. Cerrone's beaten guys that Dos Anjos has lost to and Cerrone's only lost to exceptional 155er's. I thought Dos Anjos should have lost his last fight against Dunham and Cerrone is a better version of Dunham so at pick'em odds I'd take Cerrone.
My Pick: I will bet on Cerrone
NR* Gastelum -225 vs. NR* Melancon +180
This fight is similar to the main event in a sense that its closer than what the odds tell you. Under normal circumstances I'd tell you to pick Melancon at underdog money. However, Melancon took this fight on short notice replacing Paulo Thiago and his battling a short notice weight cut following his eating benge he recently had after his last fight. So what started out as an close fight has now turned in the favor of Gastelum. Although we don't know how Gastelum is going perform at 170 I'd pick him but tread cautiously if you do.
My Pick: I'll probably pass or place a small wager on Gastelum
NR* Whitaker -140 vs. NR* McGee +110
This fight is very close. Whitaker has very good and organic combos and its worked well for him in the past against lesser competition. However, McGee is a step up in competition to his escapades in TUF so you can't sleep on McGee.
My Pick: I'm passing
NR* Perez -140 vs. NR* Mizugaki +110
I sound like a broken record but this is another close fight. This fight is similar to the Whitaker/McGee fight. Perez has looked good in the UFC so far and is on a winning streak that extends beyond his UFC career so he's doing something right. Mizugaki is a step up in competition though. Mizugaki has only lost to top tier competition and even though Perez is on a roll I don't know if we can put him in the same category as Bowles, Faber and Torres yet which explains the pick'em odds.
My Pick: I'm picking Perez at a low price
NR* Tavares -455 vs. NR* McDaniel +350
I like Tavares in this fight he is 4-1 in his last 5 and flying under the radar racking up wins. Tavares is durable and already battle tested which is why he's a 4 to 1 favorite. McDaniel was one of the better TUF alums outside of Gastelum and Hall and crazier things have happened but, Tavares is definitely better but I would still tread cautiously on the steep betting line.
My Pick: I'm passing
My quick Under Card Picks:
Andrews -285
Thatch -265
Hioki -130
Head -115
Trujillo -120
Cummings -120
My Previous Results: My UFC Fight Night 26 betting results
After Lauzon lost to Johnson I made a last minute bet on Faber and profited 57.75$. Sorry next time I'll show you how it all went down.

Rankings 2013 Update #2
Sorry for the wait. I still have to implement the new rules into all 8 weight classes. Afterwards I will also bring back the 'Live Rankings' tab and 'Upcoming Fights' tab.

Rankings 2013 Update #1
Previously I didn't take into consideration "draws" or "No-Contest" in my rankings but now I will start to do so. I will post this in my header right above the 'HOME' tab as well for you all to see. As you can see I do leave +# and -# for anyone who has risen up or fallen down in my rankings but with this new rule in place it will alter the rankings a lot. So I won't be using any pluses and minuses in the next published rankings.
* As an example, I will show you how my current flyweight rankings look and how they will look with this new implemented rule and you will soon understand:
Prior to including draws & no contests:
1. Demetrious Johnson
2. Joseph Benavidez
3. Ian McCall
4. John Dodson
5. Jussier Da Silva
6. John Lineker
7. Yasuhiro Urushitani
8. Yosuke Saruta
9. Kentaro Watanabe
10. Shinichi Kojima
Contenders list: Ryuichi Miki, Haruo Ochi, John Moraga, Darrell Montague, Mikihito Yamagami
Louis Gaudinot still in eligible for his long layoff

UFC Fight Night 26: 'Shogun' vs Sonnen Predictions and Betting Lines
My Main Card Predictions and Bets:
#7 'Shogun' +120 vs. NR* Sonnen -150
I'm picking Shogun because he's got the edge standing up and on the ground. Shogun is also a black belt in jiu jitsu with a tricky guard even better than Anderson Silva's guard with his ability to dive for leg locks. Even if he doesn't get the leg lock he uses it to get back up to his feet which is exactly where he wants to be. Although Sonnen can take 'Shogun' down repeatedly I just don't see him fending him off for 25 minutes. I see 'Shogun' winning inside the distance by TKO or knockout especially in a five rounder.
My bet: 33.33$ to win 40$ on Shogun
#5 Overeem -185 vs. NR* Browne +155
I'm picking Overeem because despite getting knocked out in his last fight he is still the superior striker. Browne prefers to stand as well but he's been knocked out before too so his chin has been tested and Overeem will look to test it again. Although Overeem has a suspect chin and Browne could tag it and put him out, I see Overeem's experience being the difference in their fight. I've got Overeem winning eventually by TKO or knockout.
My bet: 74$ to win 40$ on Overeem & check my parlays
#2 Faber -290 vs. NR* Alcantara +230
I'm picking Faber because of his experience and because he is the wrestler so he can dictate where he wants the fight to go. Alcantara likes to go for broke with both his striking and his submissions but I feel Faber will have and answer for anything Alcantara gives him. Since Alcantara is always in the fight I'm picking Faber by decision.
My bet: 116$ to win 40$ on Faber & check my parlays
NR* Pyle +130 vs. NR* Brown -160
As you can see by the line this fight is very close. I myself don't know who to pick. On one hand I'd pick Brown by TKO because of his pressure on the other hand I'd pick Pyle because of his submissions and Brown's poor track record with submission defense. It's hard to see either guy lose right now because of their winning streaks. Both guys have a path to victory. The one who wants it more will most likely win.
My bet: pass
NR* Hall -435 vs. NR* Howard +335
I'm picking Hall because he's more unpredictable with his striking and I feel he's going to come back stronger after a loss. At the very worst I feel he wins all three rounds by decision or ends it with strikes eventually. I will be passing because the line is too high and Howard is no pushover in the striking department himself. With these small gloves and the way Howard fights and the steep line, I would tread cautiously on Hall.
My bet: pass
NR* Lauzon -245 vs. NR* Johnson +195
I'm picking Lauzon because I feel he's not going to let Johnson breath, he's going to constantly be looking for a submission and it will overwhelm Johnson. Even if Lauzon doesn't get the submission I feel he will win the decision atleast because of the constant pressure he's going to put on him.
My bet: check my parlays
My under card bets only:
40.30$ to win 30$ on Gamburyan
40.25$ to win 18.30$ on (Mike) Brown
99$ to win 30$ on Brandao
40$ to win 20$ on McDonald
96$ to win 40$ on McGregor
My Parlays:
18$ to win 50.44$ on Faber, Overeem, McGregor & Lauzon
48$ to win 45.10$ on McGregor & Lauzon
Previous Results: My UFC 163 betting results
Won 2.91$ on Yahya
Won 18.92$ on McCall
Lost 69.66$ on Magalhaes
Won 18.51$ on Lineker
Won 12$ on Lineker vs. Tome to go under 2 1/2 rounds
Lost 70.26$ on Machida
Won 22$ on Machida vs. Davis to go over 2 1/2 rounds
Won 15.69$ on Aldo
Overall I lost 49.89$
P.S. - I would have profited 20.37$ if Machida didn't get robbed.
NR - Not ranked in the top 10
#7 'Shogun' +120 vs. NR* Sonnen -150

UFC 163 Aldo vs. 'Korean Zombie' Predictions and Betting Lines
My Main Card Predictions and Bets:
NR - Not ranked in the top 10
IE - in eligible to be ranked
#1 Aldo -700 vs. IE* Sung Jung +500
I am picking Aldo because I only see one path to victory for 'the Korean Zombie' and that's to make it to the championship rounds and hope that Aldo is tired out and to hunt for the late TKO/KO or submission win and that's a big if. At the very worst I see Aldo winning by decision destroying Jung with leg kicks in the process. Best case scenario Aldo wins by TKO or knockout.
My bet: 111.66$ to win 15.69$ on Jose Aldo
#2 Machida -355 vs. #8 Davis +280
I am picking Machida because of his unique karate base striking, quick footwork and good takedown defense. Davis's only path to victory is take Machida down and attempt ground and pound or look for a submission which he has the skill set to do but I see Machida stuffing his takedown attempts and making this a striking match winning by decision.
My bet: 77.26$ to win 19.48$ on Machida & 44$ to win 22$ on the fight to go over 2 1/2 rounds
NR* Ferreira -450 vs. NR* Santos +340
I am picking Ferreira for the purpose of giving you my prediction. I won't be placing any bets on this fight because I am not entirely familiar with his opponent Santos who is a newcomer to the promotion. Both guys are fairly green with less than 10 fights each. Judging by Santos's record at 8-1 he is a striker with most of his wins coming by TKO. Ferreira being a BJJ black belt and capoeira master he should be safe standing and on the ground cruising to a decision at worst.
My bet: pass
NR* Leites -130 vs. NR* Watson +100
I have gone back and forth with this fight and do not know who to pick and apparently neither do the odds makers with close to even odds on Leites and dead even on Watson. On the feet I favor Watson with most of his stoppage wins coming by TKO or knockout. Leites is not a bad striker himself but he favors the ground game being a black belt in BJJ and often winning by submission. Who ever can impose their gameplan should win this fight it's anybodies guess.
My bet: pass
#6 Lineker -445 vs. NR* Maria Tome +345
I am picking Lineker because of his knockout power which is very rare in the flyweight division. Maria Tome's record looks impressive but its very deceiving. Although Tome is on a tremendous winning streak, he hasn't been tested with most of his opponents having more losses than wins on their record. I give Tome a grapplers chance being he is a submission guy but asking him to face and defeat a top 10 flyweight is a tall task I won't bank on.
My bet: 81.06$ to win 18.51$ on Lineker & 17.40$ to win 12$ on the fight to go under 2 1/2 rounds
My under card bets only:
75.66$ to win 18.92$ on McCall
69.66$ to win 18.59$ on Magalhaes
27.66$ to win 2.91$ on Yahya
27.66$ to win 2.91$ on Yahya
I am passing on:
Nunes vs. Gaff, Moraes vs. Magny, Andrade vs. Marunde & Oliveira vs. Barroso
